Guernesiais translation
A free translation service is available from the Guernsey Language Commission thanks to our supporter, Martin & Martin Designer Goldsmiths.
Since its launch in 2013, we have arranged for the translation of over 400 phrases and expressions for a wide variety of purposes including wedding vows, tattoos, greeting cards and headstones. We also provide guidance on pronunciation.

Ley Bohti (The Buddies)
We recommend that the best, most sociable and enjoyable way to learn the language is to meet someone who speaks it. We have a database of language speakers who are happy to be contacted by learners. We have called these speakers 'Ley Bohti' ('the buddies'). (There are many different accents in Guernesiais but some speakers pronounce 'bohti' as rhyming with 'potty').
